Performance Opportunities

Competitions & Evaluations

Performance Evaluation Program (PEP)

The PEP is a non-competitive general audition program. Repertoire, dates, and rules are determined by the PEP Committee.

Entrants must study with a teacher in good standing. Applications must be submitted four weeks prior to audition dates.

Honors Auditions

Competitive auditions open to piano, instrumental, and voice students. Winners perform at the PMTNM State Conference.

Designed to encourage students to prepare recital-caliber repertoire and receive constructive criticism from qualified judges.

National Standards

MTNA National Competitions

The path to national recognition starts here. The MTNA National Competitions are the most prestigious student competitions in the country.

Supporting the Next Generation

Scholarships

Byrdis W. Danfelser Piano Scholarship

Established in memory of PMTNM's founder. Available for piano students (Grade–High School) of active PMTNM members.

Janet Spangenberg Weed Memorial Scholarship

Available for all music students (piano, voice, instrumental) whose primary teacher is a PMTNM member.

Contributions to both scholarship funds are tax deductible. Contact us for contribution details.

About the System

Two Series. One Library.

PMTNM organizes all documents and resources using a decimal classification system modeled on Dewey Decimal — permanent numbers that locate every document within the broader structure of the organization's knowledge.

100–900 series covers official governance documents: bylaws, ethics code, committee duties, membership policy, finance, and history.

1100–1900 series covers member-curated resource collections: theory tools, sheet music, pedagogy guides, technology, professional development, and research.
